Easter began for me with a 3:00 am feeding, followed by a 5:00 am wake-up call for my 6:30 am sunrise service. Sleep is for the weak.
I led the sunrise service outside in 28 degree weather. Because Easter was about as early as it CAN be this year, it was also more of a moonlight service than sunrise until the benediction as the sun began to peek over the mountains. It was the first time I preached by flashlight and with one glove on (the other hand had to be free to turn my manuscript pages)…
quite the experience.
Then we had our normal 2 morning services at the church and then a large Easter dinner with church friends before I collapsed for a good 2 hour nap between Zeke’s feedings.
My parents came up Easter evening to visit the baby (and, secondarily, us, I suppose)…It was a good time.
